The First Lady is protected from the elements. When collapsed, coated aluminum protective flaps cover the drying line, keeping your line clean and unweathered by warding off dirt and protecting the drying line from weathering. The First Lady also has an extra 24 feet of line you can pull out from the top to use as a single retractable clothesline that can be attached to a wall, fence or tree if you don't want to open up the whole unit (as pictured). The First Lady is retractable making it a breeze to expand and collapse when needed. The First Lady attaches into an aluminum socket that is cemented into the ground. This gives you the ability to completely remove the clothesline for storing. The ground socket features a cover to fully protect the socket when the clothesline is not installed. Easily retracts for storage when not in use!

Cement or Soil Options - If you prefer planting your clothesline in the soil without a cement base, the aluminum soil socket option is designed for this purpose. The aluminum soil socket can be hammered into the ground instead of being cemented in.
